Future software Programming will be C#?
I m 24, looking for a career change to software from Electrical industry after 4 years. I know C and c++ to some extent,My friends suggested me to take up C# &.NET instead of J2EE/J2ME is it right option, also they said i can not get job in 5 month it will take atleast one year before I get the job. Am i too ambitious to get job in 5 months time, Job prospect for C#?
I run a very small (myself and a partner) web and software development company in Philadelphia, PA. Our primary development technology is .Net & C#. I can honestly say that I turn down several job offers a year because I don’t want a real full-time job.
A good programmer (or someone with the potential to be one) can do a lot in 5 months. If you’re the type who can just sit down with a programming book and go through it, I would recommend getting O’Reilly “Programming C#” and a copy of Visual Studio .Net 2005 and start reading.
Also, if you don’t know SQL, you should definitely familiarize yourself with Microsoft SQL. Programmers are MUCH more valuable when they can work with a databse.
