Gmail Application on mobile from gmail.com/app?

i have been using the installed version of gmail that i downloaded
from www.gmail.com/app on my Htc P3400 WM5 mobile for long. recently i
hard reset my PDA and since then i am trying to reinstall the gmail
application but i am not able.. keep getting the error message
installation falied.. though i see one funny icon in my midlet manager
list for gmail but clicking on it says error running the application.
Please help..

doesn’t work on my phone either, you can try updating the java on your phone though
