Will Windows Mobile 5.0 work (sync) with Vista OS?

My iPaq PDA won’t sync with Office 2007 (Outlook); I had this syncing perfectly with a desktop PC (same OS and Office Suite) a couple weeks ago, I then returned the desktop and replaced with a desktop replaceable Notebook (same OS and Office Suite), now it shows it’s connected in the Mobile Device Center software but and chimes like a normal sync is happening, but a sync error ocurrs. The error gives no info whatsoever. HP support told be today that Windows Mobile 5.0 is not compatible w/Vista 64 bit, yet it was working on the last ‘new’ PC, which I told them. Can someone relay similar experiences or help. BTW…HP supports is awful, awful bad….and that’s putting it nicely!
